How are study scores calculated?

Today, I got back my SAC results for Chemistry and I scored 86%. Is that considered an "A"? What kind of grades will I need to achieve in order to gain a RAW score of 40+ ?

How can I ensure that I get a 50 SS in a subject rather than a 40? I have heard that the difference in marks needed for 40 -50 is not that much.

Is there an archive of these somewhere? How long do they date back until?
