Hi, I was wondering when it says: Find the maximum and the minimum of a function, is it referring to the domain, the range or both?
e.g.: f(x) = 6 + 4cos(x) - sin2(x)
How would you work this one out? Thanks :D

It's referring to the y-values - so the range. So if your range is [3, 5], then your minimum is 3, and your maximum is 5. For that example, you'd probably have to use your calculator and graph it out to look for the maximum and minimum, since it's a bit complicated. |
