We'd like to hear any VCE-related tips or Did you know... for VCE students.

Great ones may be placed around the website :)

Read your novels/texts. Know your novels/texts. Even if you don't like English, if you're playing the ENTER game, it's time to work your butt off because English is the first score that goes into the calculation of your ENTER. Your English teacher is now your new best friend.

To get a feel of what the examiners are looking for in the official exams, check out the assessment reports on the VCAA website. You should find general comments and possibly 'clues' on what they will put on this year's exams. Usually, if a certain topic has been previously done badly they will try and test it again.

For studies with large enrolments (1,000 or more students):

  • 2% of students will get a study score on or above 45
  • 9% of students will get a study score on or above 40
  • 26% of students will get a study score on or above 35
  • 53% of students will get a study score on or above 30
  • 78% of students will get a study score on or above 25
  • 93% of students will get a study score on or above 20

IN THE STATE!

For a certain period of time after the VCE results are released, you may apply for a Statement of Marks that includes marks obtained for the examination/performance/other graded assessments, as well as the calculation of study score. The application form for this should be included in the results package sent to you, otherwise it can be downloaded here. Each statement costs $8.55 and make sure you apply before the dateline if interested.

I like the "Did you know" nature of this suggestion! – Collin Li Oct 19 at 10:58
