Hey, I'm doing Methods AND Further 3/4 this year and I do every question in every exercise carefully but come exam time, I'm still not getting those 100%'s I'm aiming for.

Are there other exams or anything I could use for extra practice? Where could I get these?

How would you recommend I solve this dilemma? Is practice practice practice the only way?

Should I redo questions?

I usually find cross referencing between textbooks aids me in understanding things better and also the questions may vary in difficulty so I do some from other textbooks as well.

I usually cross reference to fully grasp a concept AFTER using my textbook to its fullest.

I used my friends cds to get a hold of E-books.

During the semester, you should do the questions behind every chapter of your textbook to reinforce relevant concepts. These questions are very important as they give you a good guide of what your weaknesses are. If you need more practice you can purchase supplementary books such as NEAP. These have additional questions for practice.

Closer to the exams, it is time for practice exams. Use your knowledge learnt and apply these to exam questions. If you get stuck, go back to the relevant chapters.

Remember, you can't practise exam papers if you haven't learnt the material properly!

Tezza,

I think practising questions is very important. Also, ensure you are doing a broad range of questions.

Outside of doing many questions, I have two main suggestions which are:

1) Analyse what type of mistakes you are making and try to obtain the ability to predict the mistake you will make.

2) Checking every one of your answers for errors, without referring to the answers in the index. The ability to finding your mistakes is one of the keys to 100% in maths.
