I am currently in year 10, and taking my Maths Methods 1&2. I am finding it difficult, and I am wondering if I should swap into mainstream maths for the remainder of year 10 and then in VCE I should take further maths. Does anyone have any advice or has been through this?

I made the decision pretty early to do Further Maths even though I did Advanced Maths in Year 10. It depends on the university course that you are thinking of doing. Some courses, for example Science at UoM require Methods. However, if that's not a concern, by all means do Further I think. It is significantly easier "(although you'll need to motivate yourself to study for what feels pointlessly simple). But give things a good think through - will it be a good challenge or is it just not your area of expertise and can you better challenge yourself in other areas? All the best.
