## 2010 Specialist Exam 1 vce

How did everyone find the exam 1 for VCE Specialist we had today?

tell me your thoughts, good sides, bad sides and what you'd do differently :)

hope people find this helpful :)

I thought it was actually quite nice, there was not a whole lot of superhard questions and all were easily attempted. I only wanted to see more complex number or dynamics questions, as those to myself are often free marks, though I didn't find this exams focus on differentiation and integration that big of a set back, as it is a core chapter of the study design.

Some answers though were often quite vulnerable to mistakes I think, possibly the area of the triangle question.
Did anyone else get, for the second question, v(t) = 4e^(t/2) + 4? This meant that at t=0, v=8 which was not true, but I could not spot my mistake.

I hope we all did well!
when you get a c value, it comes out to be negative, i think u wrote it plus, thats how u got that answer, cos my teacher attempted our exam straight after the exam, and he made that same mistake, and got that answer. i think...
btw the exam it self wasnt that difficult in my opinion...only question i couldnt do was that area of triangle question... not that i got everything else right...
yeh, i am happy with that exam.... now section 2...
With Specialist Maths exam 1, the general pattern shows it is much easier. So my advice is to fully prepare for Exam 2, which will be much challenging and that's often is the exam which allows the good students to break away from average students. DO as many practice exams as possible. Good Luck
I was very happy with it, it was easy, but with a slight challenge to it, I think while overall people will do well, there'll still be a nice spread of results =)
However they kinda made up for the easiness with exam 2!
