Is the period of |sin 4x| equal to π/4 or π/2?

Wouldn't it be π/4, since we go '2π over n'? The solution says it is π/2 instead.

If you use 2π/n, you'll get 2π/4 = π/2.

However, if you observe the graph, the period is π/4, because the modulus causes the negative part of sine to repeat the positive part of sine. Hence, the period is halved.
