In the chlorination of alkanes, will 1,2 dichloroalkane and 1,1 dichloroalkane (is my naming correct?) be formed, as well as hydrogen gas OR will 1-chloroalkane be formed and hydrochloric acid?

Your naming is not fully correct. You should have a hyphen connecting the numbers to the word (with the dichloroalkanes).

It sounds like you're talking about a substitution reaction (otherwise the only product would be the chloroalkane). In which case, only a single chlorine atom will substitute on, and a HCl molecule will be left over.
